The “Compliment” Gone Wrong
On Thursday, January 8, Deeone shared a screenshot of an interaction he had with the singer’s fan page. The comedian had attempted to praise the music star, hailing her as a top icon in the industry.
He wrote:
“The sexiest queen of Afrobeats.”
However, the response from the fan page was far from appreciative. In a sharp and unexpected clapback, the handler replied:
“Save the compliment for your mother.”
Previous Criticism
The hostility appears to stem from Deeone’s recent criticism of Tiwa Savage. The comedian had previously weighed in on a controversy involving the singer and an influencer known as Dami Foreign. At the time, Deeone dismissed Tiwa’s reaction to the influencer’s posts as “excessive,” arguing that public figures must learn to tolerate mockery and criticism as part of the package of fame.
