The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia yesterday suspended pilgrimage visas from West African countries where the dread ebola virus disease has been worst hit.
The move is coming on the heels of the death of a patient in Jeddah who was suspected to be infected with the viral disease after he went on a business trip to Sierra Leone.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Saudi authorities confirmed the infection after tests were conducted on samples from the victim which were certified EVD symptoms of “viral hemorrhagic fever”. The Saudi Health Ministry also stated that it was working to trace the man travel’s route and identify those he had contact with.
