The Code of Conduct Tribunal has fixed Thursday, March 10 for the resumption of the trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki on 13 counts of false assets declaration.
The CCT made the announcement after receiving a letter from Rotimi Jacobs (SAN) on behalf of the Federal Government informing the Tribunal of the judgement of the Supreme Court, okaying the trial.
The Head, Press and Public Relations of the CCT, Ibraheem Al-hassan, confirmed the appointed date to Punch Newspaper.
“We have issued and served the hearing notice today,” Alhassan was quoted to have said.
Saraki had petitioned an Abuja Court of Appeal to order the termination of his trial by the CCT after the tribunal had charged him for allegedly declaring the wrong worth of his asset when he was governor of Kwara state.
The Supreme Court however, on Friday, February 5 dismissed Saraki’s bid giving the CCT the confirmation to proceed on the trial.
