Controversial show promoter Sam Larry has made public an audio clip of a private phone conversation with rapper Zlatan Ibile, in which the rapper seemed to validate some of his statements about the bullying accusations involving the late singer Mohbad.
This revelation comes shortly after Sam Larry’s in-depth interview with activist Verydarkman, during which he denied ever assaulting Mohbad and claimed he was being unfairly portrayed online.
In the leaked audio, Sam Larry is heard urging Zlatan to make a public statement to help defend him.
“Please, help me explain what really happened. They keep pushing this bullying narrative. It’s not true,” Sam Larry appealed.
Zlatan responded with caution, explaining that he had intentionally stayed out of the controversy for more than two years due to warnings from his parents and fear of online criticism.
“I am being careful; I will recommend giving a press statement. It’s been over two years since I refused to get involved in this saga. My mum and dad have warned me not to get involved; the last time I was dragged over what I said online, I was traumatised,” Zlatan responded.
The rapper also commented on the widely circulated 9-second video that intensified the bullying allegations, alleging it had been edited to mislead viewers.
“The media is very toxic; they cropped the video to push an agenda. This is why I don’t want to be involved… I know you are not like that, but I’ve been avoiding this matter to protect myself,” he stated.
Zlatan stressed that his top priority is his family’s safety, adding that he deliberately keeps them away from social media to shield them from its toxicity.
After the audio was released, activist Verydarkman issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Zlatan Ibile, demanding that he publicly clarify his position and address the issue.
