A HEARTBROKEN dad accidentally killed his three-year-old daughter by running her over with his van in a freak tragedy.
Little Lacey Bell suffered fatal crash injuries after dad Richard pulled off a kerb and drove over her – unaware she was at the side of his car.
The doting daughter is thought to have followed her dad out after he left the house to head to the shops without him knowing.
As mechanic Richard pulled into the road hidden Lacey fell under the rear wheel and suffered devastating injuries on impact.
Realising what had happened, devastated Richard was heard screaming: “I’ve just run my little girl over. I’ve killed my baby.
“What have I done to my family, I’ve killed my little girl.”
Guilt-ridden Richard rushed his beloved daughter to hospital but she tragically died an hour later, despite desperate attempts to try and save her.
The devastated dad sobbed as he re-lived the tragedy at an inquest into the toddler’s death, which occurred at 6pm on February 21 – a week after the youngster’s third birthday.
