Hlaudi Motsoeneng aside the “lady gift” who becomes his traditional wife also got a cow, a calf from the Venda chiefs last Wednesday.
He and other SABC executives were apparently in the area for a meeting with Mudzi wa Vhurereli ha Vhavenda (Mudzi), a lobby group of traditional leaders and healers.
“There were around 10 girls and they paraded for him to choose.
“He chose the one he liked,” Mudzi executive secretary Humbelani Nemakonde was quoted in the Sowetan as saying.
He received the gifts from Mudzi because he was “committed to his job and understands the strategic objectives of the SABC”, Nemakonde said.
“All the girls were there with their parents. Their parents knew what was going to happen and they agreed,” he said.
However, South Africa’s feminist her appalled by this act and futher disgusted that Motsoeneng condoned the act by accepting the gift
