A retired nurse has sparked reactions online after expressing concern about the health of Nigerian gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey, urging fans to lift him in prayers.
The call came shortly after Bassey emotionally revealed that his wife had suffered five miscarriages during his ongoing Hallelujah Challenge.
Nurse Calls for Intercession
The retired nurse, identified as @Jenny86753 on X (formerly Twitter), claimed that the gospel minister appeared to be battling an undisclosed illness but continued to serve God with unwavering faith.
She wrote:
“Pray for Nathaniel Bassey. It is obvious that he is sick while he is doing the Hallelujah Challenge. But he is pressing on in Victory. In Jesus’ Name! Amen.”
In a follow-up post, she thanked those who joined in prayers for the singer, describing him as a global blessing whose strength in adversity was inspiring.
“Thank you for all your responses in praying for Nathaniel Bassey. I just know he will appreciate his brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ holding him up in prayer as he continues Hallelujah Challenge. He is a blessing to the world,” she added.

Nathaniel Bassey, known for hit worship songs such as Imela and Onise Iyanu, has yet to address the health-related claims.
