Renowned Nollywood actor and producer, Chief Adedeji Aderemi, also known as Baba Olofa Ina, has passed away at the age of 73. The veteran actor reportedly died on January 4, 2024, in his hometown of Ede. Until his death, Chief Adedeji Aderemi, also recognized as Baba Olowe and holding the title of Sobaloju of Edeland, had a significant impact on contemporary Yoruba theatre.
In 1972, he founded the Olofa Ina Theatre Group, collaborating with well-known figures such as Erinfolamin, Dasofunjo, Gbolagade Akinpelu, and the late Oyetunji of Esinnla compound, Ede. His theatrical training was under the late Oyetunji. The Olofa Ina Group made notable contributions to the Theatre Industry by leading the production of epic histories depicting Yoruba Warlords from the 18th and 19th centuries.
These productions featured stories of Basorun Ogunmola, Balogun Ibikunle, Ogedengbe Agbogungboro of Ilesha, Aare Kurunmi of Ijaye, Kakanfo Afonja, and many others.
