Renowned Christian music composer Jude Nnam has reportedly been kidnapped.
Known as “Ancestor,” Nnam serves as the National Music Director for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and is a member of the National Liturgical Commission at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN).
The incident allegedly occurred on Thursday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State, where Nnam had traveled for a church event.
Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Augustine Mario shared the news on Facebook, writing, “Please keep Sir Dr. Jude Nnam (Ancestor) in your prayers. He was reportedly kidnapped yesterday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State. Sir Jude Nnam is the CAN National Music Director and a member of the National Liturgical Commission, CSN. May God grant him safety and a quick release from his abductors. Amen.”
Another priest confirmed the news on his Facebook page, expressing frustration, “If this is true, then it is a huge shame. I’m simply tired of this unfortunate space called Nigeria. Why this pain and frustration now? Anyway, I hope it’s not true. Jude Nnam Ancestor! It is well.”
According to NAIJALOG, Nnam recently celebrated his 50th birthday and performed at the *Unusual Praise 2024* event at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity in Onitsha last week.
