After Tinubu’s triumph at the Supreme Court, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, is made fun of by former presidential adviser Reno Omokri. This follows the Supreme Court’s October 26 rejection of the presidential candidate’s appeal. Reno Omokri taunts Peter Obi, saying, “You will never be President,” when Tinubu wins at the Supreme Court. The opposition’s challenges, which included claims of election law violations, fraud, and Tinubu’s eligibility for the presidency, were ruled to be without merit by a panel of seven judges.
All of the reasons made by Atiku and the PDP, including those concerning eligibility, adhering to the Electoral Act, obtaining 25% of the votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and accusations of electoral malpractice, were categorically denied by the Supreme Court. Reno Omokri responded to the Supreme Court’s ruling by posting a video of himself dancing on the X platform. He underlined in the caption that the LP presidential candidate would never be able to lead Nigeria as president, no matter how hard he tries.
