Senator Remi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, recently spoke at an event in the country about the persistent issue of indecent dressing among females.
During the event, the Senator emphasized the importance of women embracing a more modest approach to fashion and moving away from nudity, which she believes is not in line with Nigerian culture. She also noted that many young ladies are adopting fashion standards from Westernized countries.
The Senator also observed that men tend to be better dressed and suggested that more effort should be made to encourage women to do the same.
However, her comments were met with disapproval from many netizens, as seen in the comments below.
oreoluwa_4089 reacted: “Coming from someone whose child dresses anyhow in London? 😂”
lolochychy asked: “How’s that affecting the duties of your husband and his cohorts? I’m not in support of immOral dressing but pls face the business you guys forced yourselves into!”
sisi_derin agreed: “It’s true mummy, stealing and corruption too, it’s not part of our culture”

What are your plans to empower girls and women Madame, most especially those in the north being oppressed by misogynistic cultural and religious leaders ?”
