Rema, an Afrobeat artist, recently expressed his frustration on social media towards his record label, Mavin Records, for their “fake” PR tactics. Mavin Records had posted on Twitter that Rema was working on a new project, which Rema retweeted with surprise and questioned its authenticity. Rema then proceeded to call out Mavin Records for their lack of creativity and asked them to stop using him for publicity stunts. He also emphasized that he is not currently releasing any new music and urged the label to come up with original ideas rather than trying to replicate his success.
He tweeted, “Labels get creative, stop trying to clone me. No new music. sorry. I’m too big for fake PR bye!”
