Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has shared that Wizkid expressed regret over their past fallout during the #EndSARS protests in October 2020.
At the time, tensions rose after Reekado announced the release of their joint track, ‘Omo Olomo’, during the nationwide protests — a move that drew heavy backlash from Wizkid, who publicly insulted him by calling him a “fool” and a “clout animal.”
In a recent interview on The Esther Show, Reekado clarified that the song’s release wasn’t his personal decision but was pushed by his management, despite his reluctance.
He revealed that Wizkid recently visited his restaurant, where they had a heartfelt conversation and reconciled. According to Reekado, Wizkid acknowledged that his reaction was extreme and also brought up past behavior toward Don Jazzy.
Reekado said, “Recently he [Wizkid] came visiting my restaurant. We had a little talk and he was a little regretful about it. He was like he shouldn’t have gone that route. He mentioned his behaviour towards Don Jazzy as well. He was like we are three people in the game who recently lost our moms. And he feels sorry about that time, so, we are good now.”
