Madrid were unchanged from the side that defeated Espanyol on sunday while Betis made four alterations to the team that played Osasuna last weekend.
Ronaldo strike a long-range drive from 30 yards out in the 10th minute to open the scoring before Gareth Bale silenced his critics with a well taken free-kick in the 25th minute to make it two before Karim Benzema added the third, his 100th goal for the team since joining from Lyon.
Angel di Maria made it four just after the hour mark with another stunning effort from distance, arrowing a left-footed half volley drive from 35 yards into the bottom corner to make it four goals for his team.
Substitute, Alvaro Morata rounded off the scoring in stoppage time as he nipped in to potch past Andersen in goal for Betis.
The Win means Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid now has 50 points making them joint table toppers but Barcelona and Atletico both have a game in hand against Levante and Sevilla respectively.
