Nigerian music sensation Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has cemented his dominance on the global stage by setting a historic record on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
The Record-Breaker
According to Chart Data, the YBNL star has become the first artist to amass a staggering 60 entries on the chart. His latest milestone was propelled by his collaboration with Wizkid, Jogodo, which recently peaked at number 4.
Ignoring the Noise
This achievement comes just days after a tense social media standoff where Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti warned Asake to “be careful” of Wizkid. Unfazed by the drama and the heated exchange between Kuti and Wizkid, Asake doubled down on his alliance with the Star Boy. On January 23, 2026, the duo officially released their joint project, Real EP Vol. 1.
announcing the release, they captioned the promo video:
“Real EP Vol. 1 ti jade bayi”
Other Chart Toppers
While Asake dominates in volume of entries, South African star Tyla retains the top spot with her hit Channel, following her record-breaking run with Water. Additionally, Burna Boy continues his own streak, becoming the first African artist to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive years (2021–2025).
Family Reunion
In a positive turn for his personal life, reports also indicate that Asake has reconciled with his father, Fatai Odunsi. This heartwarming development follows a public fallout earlier in 2025, where his father had accused the singer of abandoning him during a stroke.
