The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will announce the results of the elections within 48 hours after voting.
INEC Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega who revealed this today, March 27, 2015, during a press briefing with the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig Gen. Johnson Olawunmi said the electoral body has put everything to ensure a hitch free exercise.
On whether voters should go home after voting, Jega said “There is no controversy whether people should vote and go or stay. People should remain to know who wins in their polling unit as long as they remain calm. The statement of the IG is only advisory.”
Jega also said that no polling unit has more than 750 voters and the elections will take place in all 119,973 polling units across the country. Units with over 750 voters should be broken into voting points, he added.
