President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday to attend the 2025 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2025), as invited by the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The event will be held in Abu Dhabi from January 12 to 18.
According to a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the summit’s goal is to bring together global leaders to accelerate sustainable development and enhance socioeconomic progress.
This year’s theme, “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” will offer a platform for policymakers, business leaders, and civil society to explore strategies for transitioning to a sustainable economy and promoting global prosperity. For over 15 years, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week has served as a key event for collaboration, addressing global challenges, and advancing sustainable growth.
The event has been instrumental in fostering partnerships between governments, businesses, and clean energy innovators, facilitating agreements that support the global sustainability agenda.
At the summit, President Tinubu is expected to present his administration’s reforms, with a focus on energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development. He will also engage in discussions with UAE leaders on areas of mutual interest between the two nations.
The President will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior officials. He is scheduled to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
