President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following his trip to Cape Town, South Africa, where he co-chaired the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The president arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 9:10 PM, where he was welcomed by prominent officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. Others in attendance included APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje and FCT Commissioner of Police Peter Opara.
The 11th session of the BNC encompassed discussions across eight key sectors, including political consultations, migration and consular issues, banking and finance, defence and security, manufacturing, social development, mines and energy, as well as trade and investment. The high-level meeting concluded with both nations signing multiple Memoranda of Understanding and agreements.
Established in 1999, the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission aims to foster stronger bonds of friendship and collaboration between the two nations.
