In accordance with their respective founding statutes, President Bola Tinubu has directed two agencies to immediately function under the leadership of his vice president, Kashim Shettima.
NTA revealed this in a Tweet on Tuesday, June 20 in the evening.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) are the organizations that are impacted.
The tweet states that President Tinubu also authorized a formal framework for the vice president’s office, including the right number of technical and administrative assistants who would collaborate with the vice president to carry out his duties successfully.
The change was a component of the continuing transformation the new president has started.
Many political commentators have praised Tinubu for the policy comments and measures he has taken since becoming president of Nigeria to change the country’s narrative.
In his three weeks in office, President Tinubu has implemented a number of initiatives, including the elimination of the gasoline subsidy, the signature of the legislation governing student loans, and the cessation of numerous naira-to-dollar exchange rates, to name a few.
The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and service chiefs were suspended, among other decisive acts for which the President has received praise.
