President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has begun to pay 25,000 Naira to 15 million homes across the country. According to The Punch, this is an agreement signed earlier this month between the federal government of Nigeria and organized labor.
Dr Betta Edu, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, stated that the initiative will assist around 61 million Nigerians. According to a Punch newspaper, she stated that “15 million households will receive 75,000 Naira over three months.” This corresponds to around 61 million Nigerians benefiting directly from the conditional cash transfer.”
This means that the beneficiaries will receive 25,000 Naira in October, November, and December. This will total 75,000 Naira over the course of three months. The federal government has vowed to implement additional steps to combat poverty across the country.
