Obia Asika, Ali Nuhu, and nine others have been appointed as CEOs of agencies under the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy by President Bola Tinubu.
On Friday, January 12, Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, issued a statement that confirmed the appointments. Obi Asika, an entertainment expert, will serve as Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, while Ali Nuhu, a veteran Kannywood actor and director, will be the Managing-Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation.
Eleven new Chief Executive Officers for agencies under the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy have been appointed by President Bola Tinubu. The appointees are Tola Akerele, the Director-General of the National Theatre, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, the Director-General of the National Films and Censors Board, Mr. Obi Asika, the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Aisha Adamu Augie, the Director-General of the Centre for Black and African Arts and Culture, and Ekpolador-Ebi Koinyan, the Chief Conservator of the National War Museum. Ahmed Sodangi, the Director-General of the National Gallery of Art, Chaliya Shagaya, the Director-General of the National Institute of Archeology and Museums Studies, Hajiya Khaltume Bulama Gana, the Artistic Director of the National Troupe of Nigeria, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, the Director-General of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation, Ali Nuhu, the Managing-Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation, and Ramatu Abonbo Mohammed, the Director-General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments.
The statement also noted that the President has charged the appointees with fulfilling their duties with the utmost professionalism, diligence, and patriotism in order to strengthen the creative sector.
