President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi to participate in the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2025), which runs from January 12 to 18 in the United Arab Emirates.
Upon his arrival, Tinubu was warmly welcomed by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ADSW 2025, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” is a global platform aimed at fostering sustainable development and promoting international collaboration.
The event brings together policymakers, business executives, and civil society representatives to discuss innovative strategies for accelerating the transition to a sustainable economy while driving socioeconomic progress.
During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to highlight his administration’s achievements and ongoing initiatives, focusing on enhancing energy sufficiency, modernizing infrastructure, improving public health, and driving economic growth.
Beyond the summit, Tinubu and his delegation will engage in bilateral discussions with UAE leaders to strengthen ties and address mutual priorities.
This visit follows the historic September 2023 agreement between Nigeria and the UAE, which resulted in the immediate lifting of the visa ban on Nigerian travelers.
Accompanying President Tinubu are Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with other senior government officials.
