Following the uproar that greeted the renaming of University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has formally asked the Senate to approve the renaming of the foremost citadel of learning and two other federal universities.
In a letter sent to the Senate on Wednesday, the President is asking for approval to rename Federal University of Technology Umudike to Michael Okpara University Umudike; Federal Univeristy of Technology Yola to Modibbo Adama University and University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University, Lagos.
