President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of eight new permanent secretaries, representing various states and geopolitical zones, to address existing and upcoming vacancies. This marks the second such round of appointments under his administration, following the first in June, which included appointees from Anambra, Akwa Ibom, and Bauchi.
The appointments were made by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, adhering to due process. The newly appointed permanent secretaries are:
- Onwusoro Maduka Ihemelandu (Abia)
- Ndiomu Ebiogeh Philip (Bayelsa)
- Anuma Ogbonnaya Nlia (Ebonyi)
- Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam (Enugu)
- Kalba Danjuma Usman (Gombe)
- Usman Salihu Aminu (Kebbi)
- Oyekunle Patience Nwakuso (Rivers)
- Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna)
The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, in a statement on Monday, December 16. Onanuga noted that these appointments are expected to bring transformative improvements to the federal civil service.
President Tinubu has urged the new appointees to demonstrate exceptional commitment, diligence, and innovation in carrying out their duties, emphasizing the critical role they play in advancing national progress and development.
