Pregnant female journalist dies after receiving mysterious phone call

A female journalist in Ogun State died , Wednesday, at the hospital after receiving a mysterious phone call.

Olabisi Oyebola, a newscaster with Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation, OGBC, died on Wednesday while in a hospital bed.

Mrs. Oyebola, who got married in August, was 9-months pregnant and close to her delivery date. Reports say she was lying down, without pains, on her hospital bed when she received the call, from a blocked number, screamed and died.

Doctors and medical personnel performed surgery on the womb of the deceased to save the baby, who is now receiving treatment.

The General Manager of Ogun Radio, Tunde Awolana, while receiving the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists,on a condolence visit in his office, expressed shock over the sudden death.

Mr. Awolana who spoke in tears said the deceased was hale and hearty while on admission; and he could not understand the mystery surrounding the death

A burial service was held for the late journalist on Thursday at the St Stephen Church, Ita-Elega, Abeokuta.
