Portable, also known as Habeeb Okikiola, has stirred reactions online after a viral video showed him openly supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027.
In the video, which surfaced on Sunday, March 22, 2026, the street-pop artist publicly endorsed the president but drew backlash over comments directed at those who do not support Tinubu.
The controversial part of the clip was his warning aimed at Yoruba individuals who oppose the president, where he referenced divine punishment linked to Ogun, the traditional god of iron and war.
“If you don’t want war, you better vote for Tinubu, na thunder and Ogun go kill any Yoruba man that doesn’t vote for Tinubu, don’t worry, very soon I’ll share rice and vegetables oil for you all,” he said.
Portable also mentioned that he had not received any financial reward for his support, while promising to distribute items like rice and cooking oil to fans.
The video has since generated mixed reactions across social media, with many condemning his statements and calling for authorities to take action, while others debated his stance.
The singer, known for his outspoken personality, was among celebrities who backed Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
