Nigerian artist Portable has publicly appealed to the EFCC and GTBank for the release of popular internet figure VeryDarkMan, whom he referred to as a friend and a generous individual.
In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Portable acknowledged that despite frequently clashing with VeryDarkMan, he still holds respect for him, particularly for his philanthropic gestures and food donations to those in need.
The singer’s emotional plea comes after VeryDarkMan was reportedly arrested outside a GTBank branch, shortly after leaving the premises. Although the specific reason behind the arrest remains unknown, online speculation suggests it may be linked to his bank visit.
Calling for compassion, Portable said:
“Please, because of God. Please free VeryDarkMan, he is my friend. He gives people food, he helps a lot of people. I love people who help people.”
He also encouraged the public not to react against the bank, stating:
“Don’t remove your money from GTBank.”
The video has stirred various reactions across social media, with users flooding the comment section with mixed views:
@Freshxiick: “Abeg make them no go carry me o😂 I wan go bank tomorrow.”
@GabrielOnifade3: “So Portable can support the movement.”
@wolexian: “Same Portable abi na cruise?”
@cruize_sat: “Portable always talk sense.”
