Controversial Nigerian artist, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has issued a public apology to the pastor he slapped for preaching in his bar.
This comes after a week of intense backlash on social media. A video of the incident surfaced online, showing Portable tearfully seeking forgiveness from the preacher.
The altercation occurred at Portable’s bar, where the pastor was delivering a sermon, leading to a physical confrontation between the two.
The incident quickly gained widespread attention, with many calling for Portable to apologize.
The viral video also features renowned gospel artist Testimony Jaga, who played a key role in mediating the reconciliation. Jaga had previously given Portable a three-day ultimatum to address the issue, which led to the singer’s public apology.
In the footage, Portable is visibly remorseful, admitting that his actions were wrong and not intended to cause harm.
He sincerely appeals to both the pastor and the public for forgiveness. The emotional apology has sparked mixed reactions online, with many debating the authenticity of his regret.

@DanielRegha said: “Portable crying means nothing, cos there’s no guarantee that he won’t repeat the same wrongful act in the near future if he finds himself in the same situation. His apology might come off as genuine, but he’s someone that’s eager to be in the spotlight so it’s difficult to take him seriously.”
