Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has publicly criticised senior colleague Olamide and other music industry figures following claims that he is being blacklisted.
The reaction came after influencer Tunde Perry alleged that top music executives held a meeting aimed at cutting Portable off from major industry circles due to what he described as repeated misconduct. According to him, the situation has also made some industry stakeholders more cautious about supporting upcoming artistes.
Reports also suggested that Olamide has become more careful about helping new talents after his past experience working with Portable. The rapper was instrumental in helping the singer gain mainstream recognition through the hit track Zazu Zeh, which launched Portable into national fame. However, the influencer claimed their relationship later became strained.
Responding in a viral video, Portable dismissed the allegations and issued strong warnings to those he believes are behind the supposed blacklist. He insisted he does not depend on any promoter or industry executive to stay relevant, stressing that his fan base alone is enough to sustain his career.
He stated:
“I am bigger than them. Who are those who want to blacklist? Are you guys my fans or my God? Are you feeding me? I have my own fans.”
The singer also directly addressed Olamide, warning against any conflict.
“Olamide, don’t mess with me. If you mess with me, I will return the energy. Stay on your own lane,” he said.
Portable further argued that help from industry figures should not come with conditions, adding that many people have supported him in the past without expecting anything in return. He maintained that he has grown beyond the influence of promoters or artistes allegedly trying to sideline him and remains confident in the loyalty of his supporters.
