The controversial rapper Portable Omolalomi has faced criticism for his recent comments about Shallipopi’s new album. As a result, his track Tony Montana has fallen from first to tenth place. Shallipopi has recently released his second studio album, titled ‘Shakespopi’, which contains nine tracks. Portable’s song with the British singer Skepta had previously been number one on the ‘Apple Music Top 100: Nigeria chart’ for several weeks, but has now been overtaken by all nine tracks on Shallipopi’s album. In response to this drop in position, Portable has accused Shallipopi of farming streams, which is an inorganic method of boosting one’s position on music charts. Portable believes that Shallipopi’s efforts are fake and that his song and career are more significant than Shallipopi’s.
“Oh boy, make you rest; man pass man o. Before you could remove my song, you had to drop an album. Your song does not have meaning, is that a song? Can’t you praise God? Can’t you sing good? I am the landlord and I am still going back to number one,” he said in part.
