Controversial singer Portable has stirred online reactions after sharing his disappointment over a recent encounter with Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
In a video making rounds, Portable recounted meeting Peter Obi on a flight. According to him, while he was seated in first class, the prominent politician was flying economy. Despite initiating a greeting, Portable said he only received a handshake from Obi—something he didn’t find impressive.
The “Zazoo” singer compared the experience with how he believes other politicians, such as President Tinubu, would have treated him, suggesting that Tinubu would have offered him money instead.
He said in part:
“The day I saw Peter Obi, I won’t lie, all I got was a handshake. I was in first class, and he was in economy. I greeted him, and all he gave me was a handshake. If it were Tinubu, I’d have walked away with bundles.”
Social Media Reactions:
- @ugo_shib: “A strong message was passed here, but what do I know?”
- @kcemenikex: “When Peter Obi gets into office, people like this won’t even be able to afford first class.”
- @Loadedbrodah: “😂😂😂 You’re in first class, yet expecting money from someone in economy? You should be the one handing out cash!”
- @franchid241016: “He just confirmed everything Peter Obi has stood for. My support for Obi just tripled.”
- @Awoken9ijaYouth: “He wanted bundles for a handshake? He was already flying first class while expecting money from a man in economy. When Obi takes over Nigeria, things will change!”
