Portable, a popular Nigerian singer, has called out fellow artist Davido, accusing him of living a “fake life” and exaggerating the value of a watch he purchased. According to Portable, Davido allegedly bought a watch for $30,000 but falsely claimed it was worth $100 million.
In a viral video shared on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Portable recounted a recent encounter with Davido. He claimed that during their meeting, Davido advised him against signing with Sony Music and instead suggested he join Empire Records. Portable said he later discussed the advice with his promoter, only to discover that Davido is actually signed with Sony and earning significant income from the deal.
Expressing his disappointment, Portable accused Davido of showing “fake love” and misleading him. He further criticized Davido, stating, “You gave me bad advice in Atlanta. Did you even pay for my flight? You told me not to go to Sony and to join Empire instead, mentioning Azaké is there. That’s what Davido said.”
Portable added, “After discussing this with my promoter, we found out that Davido is signed with Sony and making good money. Fake love, fake life. You buy a chain for $30,000 and claim it’s worth $100 million. Your fake life and fake love will catch up with you. Big Wizzy, God bless you.”
The video sparked significant reactions, with many users sharing their opinions in the comment section.
