A newly admitted student of Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Edo State, department of Fashion Design and Clothing Department lost his life after falling from a mango tree in the school.
The deceased, Stephen Etuk, climbed a mango tree within the campus and in an attempt to pluck a fruit the branch of tree he was standing on, carved in. He fell down hitting his head on the ground. Few minutes after the fall he was pronounced dead.
The sad incident occurred while Stephen and his mates were preparing for a Citizenship Education Test.
He was reported to have gone for an an all-night reading session with his colleagues in preparation for the test and their forth coming semester examination expected to commence next week Wednesday.
His colleagues described him as a humble and easy going person who was committed to motivating others in the department.
