The Osun State Police Command remained silent on the findings of its investigation into the alleged assault on a female cop, Inspector Bamidele Olorunsogo, by her superior, Matthew Ajayi, on Sunday.
The two officers work for the Ode Omu Police Division in Osun State.
Olorunsogo accused the Divisional Crime Officer, Ajayi, of assault.
In a recent viral social media video, Olorunsogo displayed open wounds allegedly inflicted on her by Ajayi after she refused to have an affair with him.
The incident, which drew the attention of the police headquarters, drew public condemnation as well.
The Osun police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, had told PUNCH Metro that the state Commissioner of Police, Sunday Faleye, had quizzed the two cops and directed the Area Commander, Ikire, to take over the case and report back to him.
However, five days after the Inspector-General of Police, Idris Alkali Baba, ordered investigation into the incident, the Osun command refused to disclose the outcome of the probe, which was supposed to end in two days.
Asked on Sunday the outcome of the investigation, Opalola, in a terse text message to our correspondent, simply wrote ‘no update yet.’
