Uganda – Assistant inspector of police Charles Oriku and his 16-year-old daughter Rebecca Onduru died on Wednesday from inhaling carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas produced by incomplete burning of carbon, including charcoal.
The Buikwe District Police commander, Mr Samuel Madira, said post mortem results from Mulago National Referral Hospital revealed the two had died of suffocation due to lack of oxygen in the house that was contaminated with carbon monoxide.
