The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has provided clarification on why Regina Daniels’ brother, Samuel Ojeogwu popularly known as Sammy West was arrested and taken to court.
Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh said the action was based on a petition submitted on October 28, 2025, accusing Sammy West of criminal conspiracy, trespassing, assault, intimidation, cyberbullying, and theft.
According to her, multiple police invitations were sent out but “Sammy West failed to appear for questioning.” He was later picked up in Lagos under a court-issued warrant and transferred to Abuja for further investigation.
The police confirmed that he was arraigned on November 6, 2025, and detained in prison pending the fulfillment of his bail requirements.
Before this, Regina Daniels alleged that her husband’s political allies, led by “Senator Ned Nwoko, of being behind her brother’s detention.” She expressed frustration over how long he has been held, revealing that both of her parents had traveled to Abuja to intervene.
In a recent video, Regina suggested she could consider making peace with Ned Nwoko solely to help free her brother. She also accused the senator of emotional manipulation and abuse allegations he has denied.
In response, Nwoko’s team insisted Regina’s claims were untrue, arguing that their marital problems were linked to her personal challenges.
The FCT Police Command maintained that the arrest and prosecution followed legal procedure and confirmed that the matter would proceed in court as investigations continue.
