Seun Kuti, the controversial Afrobeats musician, has been freed on bail by the Lagos state police command.
Remember that the singer was imprisoned at Panti, the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lagos State, after being charged with assaulting a police officer on May 14 at the Third Mainland Bridge.
Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN), the singer’s attorney, confirmed to journalists that Seun Kuti was released on Tuesday night;
“Yes, Ṣeun Kuti was released minutes ago. His bail conditions had been perfected since last Thursday, but the police asked for an extension to remand him in their custody until today (Tuesday), to conclude investigation.”
