Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji is set to release his epic biopic titled *Lisabi*. The movie will be released in two parts: the first part, *Lisabi: The Uprising*, will premiere on September 25th, while the second part, *Lisabi: A Legend is Born*, is scheduled for release in January 2025.
Biopics have become increasingly common in Nollywood, and Adedimeji’s film tells the compelling story of Lisabi, an Abẹ́òkúta farmer who led a revolt against the oppressive Oyo Empire, paving the way for the Egba people’s independence in the 18th century.
The film stars top Nollywood actors, including Mo Bimpe (Adedimeji’s wife), Ibrahim Yekini Itele, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta, Eniola Ajao, Femi Adebayo, and Lateef Adedimeji himself.
Lisabi is produced by Lateef Adedimeji and written by Niyi Akinmolayan and Yinka Olaoye.
