While the tenure of Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose lasted in Ekiti State during his first term between May 29, 2003 and October 16, 2006, he was known to uniquely celebrate his birthdays in the church.

The governor would lay prostrate before the altar in fervent prayers to God in the name of Jesus Christ, and would only get up when he was certain he had been heard.

The beat seems to have changed, though as Gov Fayose is seen here fully turbaned and offering prayers to Allah during the ongoing Eid-el-Kabir.
