The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is facing substantial criticism for his remarks on the legal issues surrounding lifestyle influencer Bobrisky.
During his appearance on *The Honest Bunch* podcast, hosted by Nedu Wazobia, Obi’s comments sparked a lively discussion as he addressed the country’s focus on the crossdresser.
Obi spoke about the recent controversies involving Bobrisky, along with figures like Verydarkman, the Falanas, and organizations such as the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service, acknowledging that these incidents have triggered strong public reactions.
Rather than engaging in the controversies, Obi questioned why such topics command so much attention in a country facing more urgent issues.
In a humorous aside, he joked that if laws were made favoring women, some of Bobrisky’s critics might start crossdressing to cope with the changes.
“These are entertainers who should not be involved in politics. If tomorrow, our government says fuel will be N800 for men and N400 for women, the number of men dressing as women would surprise you,” he quipped.
However, his remarks sparked debate online, with some social media users interpreting his comments as a sign of support for Bobrisky’s actions.
