Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, took to his official X account on Wednesday to address the actions of Amaka Patience, a Canada-based Nigerian woman who recently threatened to harm some Nigerians. In his post, Obi noted that some have suggested Amaka’s comments were a response to hateful remarks directed at the Igbo community.
Peter Obi emphasized that tribal tensions and religious divisions must not be allowed to escalate in the country, stressing that such divisive and hateful language against one another has no place in the nation.
According to Peter Obi on his official X account:
“Some explained that her comments were in reaction to earlier hateful comments made by another Nigerian and reportedly directed at other Nigerians of the Igbo ethnicity which I also now condemn in the strongest terms. As I mentioned then, and still maintain now, tribal tension and religious division must not be allowed to grow among us”.
