Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, popularly known as Peller, has sparked fresh controversy online after a viral moment from his ongoing nationwide tour.
During a stop in Ibadan on March 24, the TikTok personality was seen throwing bundles of cash into a crowded street, triggering a chaotic rush among onlookers.
In the widely circulated video, people are seen scrambling to grab the falling money, with several individuals including a uniformed man joining the frenzy as traffic briefly turned disorderly.
One clip that drew particular attention showed a man in worn-out clothing repeatedly attempting to catch the money but failing each time, a moment that has since sparked criticism online.
While some observers condemned the act as insensitive and disrespectful, especially considering the struggles of many, others argued that it was simply meant as entertainment or a form of generosity, though poorly executed.
The incident adds to a growing list of controversies surrounding Peller’s tour. He was previously in the spotlight after issues with the Benin Traditional Council, which reportedly declared him wanted over an alleged unauthorised visit to the palace during his time in Benin City.
