The Peoples Democratic Party has carried out the historic listing of nine women as the Founding Mothers of the opposition party.
Acting Chairman of the BoT, Sen. Walid Jibrin, on behalf of the National Executive Committee, sent a memo to name them as the Founding Mothers to the party’s Board of Trustees.
Included in the list was a foormer Minister of Aviation, Dr. Kema Chikwe, Amb. Esther Audu, Amb. Justina Eze, Mrs Josephine Anenih and Prof. Stella Efta-Atoe.
The memo said: “The following nine women are upgraded to the status of Founding Mothers based in their involvement with the party since inception in 1998/1999.”
“This and others as approved by the Board and the NEC on Monday, were part of the recommendations of the Prof. Jerry Gana committee aimed at strengthening the BoT.”
