A 51-year-old Lagos pastor was sentenced to life in prison for raping sisters by an Ikeja sexual offenses and domestic violence court.
In August 2020, the pastor, Nduka Anyanwu, pleaded guilty to defiling and impregnating two teenage sisters.
On Tuesday, February 14, Judge Abiola Soladoye sentenced him for impregnating two sisters, ages 13 and 17, both of whom gave birth.
The convict is accused of defiling the two sisters while holding prayer sessions at a church complex in Oshodi in August 2020. The evidence presented against the convict was convincing and consistent, according to the judge.
Soladayo called the convict “morally bankrupt,” and said his name should be added to the state’s sex offenders’ register.
According to Abiola Soladoye, the police should have charged the parents of the victims/survivors alongside the convict. She called the parents irresponsible, claiming they encouraged the survivors to be defiled by the defendant.
“On several occasions, one of the survivors returned to the parents to complain about the defendant’s behavior. She was b€aten and returned to the defendant’s residence.
“The prosecution has established the elements of the offenses against the morally bankrupt defendant,” the Judge stated.
