In light of Nigeria’s worsening economic crisis, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, is preparing to lead a national prayer session aimed at seeking divine intervention for the country’s economic recovery.
According to a statement provided to Saturday PUNCH, the prayer session will be the central feature of RCCG’s July 2025 thanksgiving service, themed “Divine Intervention.” The event is scheduled to take place at the church’s national headquarters in Oyingbo, Lagos.
During a press briefing held in Lagos on Friday, Pastor Adeboye—through his Special Assistant on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun—explained that the prayer initiative is a faith-based response to Nigeria’s deepening socio-economic crisis, driven by soaring inflation and systemic challenges.
“Our nation, Nigeria, as well as other nations of the world, are going through a challenging time. However, the good news is that these challenges are surmountable by faith, if we do not entertain doubt,” Adeboye stated.
He further encouraged Nigerians to shift their mindset from negativity to faith-driven optimism and take proactive steps toward national progress.
“As citizens and stakeholders in Nigeria, we need to drop the garb of negative confessions and plug into the mystery of faith and positive reasoning, to drive positive action towards moving Nigeria forward,” he said.
Pastor Adeboye reaffirmed his belief in divine intervention as a catalyst for national turnaround.
“To this effect, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adeboye, has undertaken to lead prayers for national economic restoration and enlargement. Our nation needs transformation into the realm of divine opportunities,” the statement concluded.
