The leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has deleted a post in which he expressed support for Israel amidst the ongoing conflict with Palestine. The conflict began on Saturday when Hamas, a Palestinian group, launched an attack on Israel. Six days later, the conflict has left thousands dead and many more injured.
Pastor Adeboye had taken to the micro-blogging platform, X, to pray for Israelis and to wish for peace in the region. However, his prayer was met with severe backlash from Nigerians who argued that Israelis neither follow nor respect Christianity. Videos of Israelis publicly inciting Christians were presented as evidence.
As a result, the respected preacher removed the video from all his social media accounts, including those managed by the RCCG.
There have been varied reactions following Pastor Adeboye’s deletion of a post in support of Israel amidst the ongoing conflict with Palestine.
skununzy said: “Why did Redeem Twitter account delete that Adeboye’s video? Dem boy to pressure. The video shouldn’t have made it to the internet. It’s absolutely nonsense. You pray for Israel, but Palestine no get God, dem no deserve prayer?”
GABBYR0CKS opined: “People spent all morning defending Pastor adeboye only for him to delete the tweet lmao. Stanship will show some of you shege. You can’t even tell a man when he’s wrong.”
