Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has praised the D’Tigress following their impressive victory over Canada.
Rena Wakama’s squad secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the women’s basketball event with a hard-fought 79-70 win against the world’s fifth-ranked team, Canada.
D’Tigress has made history as the first African team, male or female, to reach the quarter-finals of Olympic basketball.
Troost-Ekong celebrated the team’s historic achievement on social media.
“Amazing achievement, let’s go all the way!” he wrote on X.
The African champions now aim to advance further by reaching the semi-finals.
