The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director-General has confirmed that corps members who have recently completed their service will receive the outstanding arrears of the increased N77,000 allowance.
This assurance comes after the Federal Government began paying the new allowance, following President Bola Tinubu’s signing of the minimum wage bill.
NYSC leadership has stated that once the necessary funds are released, they will ensure that all eligible corps members, including those who have already completed their service, receive their due payments.
Officials have made statements assuring that the government is committed to fulfilling the payment of the arrears.
There were also statements made regarding the NYSC needing to be reformed, and the problems with fraudulent uploads of unqualified graduates from tertiary institutions.
