Oluwademilade Odumuboni, a schoolboy from Nigeria, beat out 782,000 other children to win a prize worth millions of naira.

He reportedly won the top prize in the international 2022–2023 Toyota Dream Vehicle Art Contest.

The 10-year-old Nigerian student at Corona School in Gbagada, Lagos, contested and won the renowned prize in the 2022/2023 session after outlasting 782,852 other competitors from 90 nations.

Odumuboni’s waste converter solution was chosen as the best by judges from around the world because it will help countries, especially African people, produce food and protect the environment.

The winner received the $5,000 cash prize, a plaque, and a certificate at a special event that Toyota Nigeria Limited organised. His school also received $10,000.

The winning drawings from the nine national winners who made the shortlist are shipped to Japan to compete against other winning drawings from across the world.

The event is held annually for kids from around the world by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), Japan, according to a report from Dailytrust. Participants are asked to sketch their ideal cars using any random idea.
