Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has shared his thoughts on receiving his first-ever Grammy nomination.
According to NAIJALOG Omah Lay earned the nomination for his collaborative track with Davido, “With You,” which is up for Best African Music Performance at the 68th annual Grammy Awards.
Taking to his Instagram page, Omah Lay expressed excitement about the nomination but admitted that awards themselves are not his priority. Instead, he emphasized his support for Davido, calling him “the realest friend I’ve had in a while” and highlighting his loyalty during difficult times.
He said,
“I’m excited about this Grammy nomination haha but fr fr I don’t give a sh!t about awards. Yeah but I really want it for OBO! he is the realest friend I’ve had in while, he stood by during my hardest times.”
Despite four previous Grammy nominations, including two in the Best African Music Performance category, Davido has yet to secure a win.
The 2026 Grammy Awards are set to hold on February 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with global coverage on CBS and streaming via Paramount+.
